FRENCH VERSION
The transportation system of the Paris region has deeply affected my life and continues to do so. I saw in this project an opportunity to show how politics of territory and transportation systems can impact a young black woman living far away from the center, at the margin. Transportation was a perfect topic for that, as there is always movement between the margin and the center. The margin often moves towards the center but the center rarely goes to the margin. It was important for me to show the black French experience, especially the black French woman experience, as this country tries hard to make us invisible, in order to maintain a false image that sells well Abroad. This film is also an affirmation of my belief in revolution. Many of us say we want change, but real change can’t be achieved if just a few of us living are living in the center(s), while the rest of the community is still maintained at the margin.
